CLT x SDGs

CLT is attracting attention as a sustainable building material that supports decarbonization and resource circulation.
Japanese cedar grows particularly quickly, making it effective for the use of domestic timber while contributing to forest conservation and a regional circular economy.

About CLT

CLT is a wood panel made by cross-laminating timber layers, providing improved strength and stable structural performance.

Japanese cedar is lightweight and easy to process, making it well suited for CLT. Using domestic timber as CLT reduces transport impact and promotes sustainable use of forest resources.

Why choose CLT?

Construction site with large CLT panel

Using large-scale
panels

Larger panel sizes simplify the structure and make construction processes easier to organize.

Construction site assembling wooden panels

High-precision
factory fabrication

Manufactured to design-specific dimensions, reducing on-site cutting and adjustments.

Construction site to carry large CLT panels with cranes

Schedule-saving
constructability

After delivery, assembly-focused work improves on-site efficiency.

Seismic testing using a wooden architectural model

Earthquake-resistant

The thick panels act as a unified structural system, enabling stable buildings. Shake-table tests show resistance to forces exceeding seismic intensity 7.

Combustion experiment to confirm the performance of the CLT panel

Excellent fire resistance

Thick timber panels such as CLT are proven to burn slowly in fires, forming a char layer that acts as thermal insulation.

Building space of curved walls using wood

Structure and design combined

As a structural material, it also enables spaces that highlight the natural texture of wood.
